Chuck a horse off a cliff!

Posted by Stephen on February 28, 2007

Not the most noble sentiment you’ve probably ever heard, but if you’ve ever even had a slight wondering as to what this might look like, then you are in luck (so to speak). A heck of a lot of my time lately has been used up playing a particular game on the XBox 360 (The Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion). One person has taken it upon themself to video them riding a horse off the side of a mountain. It’s fun to watch and also to marvel at the gaming physics at the same time.

Horsey suicide

Now, you do understand that it’s not a real horse, don’t you?  Neigh bother.

Magic Beer

Posted by Stephen on February 27, 2007

A lady walks into a bar and sees a really cute guy sitting at the counter.
She goes over and asks him what he is drinking.
“Magic Beer”, he says.
She thinks he’s a little crazy, so she walks around the bar, but after that there is no one else worth talking to,goes back to the man sitting at the bar and says,
“That isn’t really Magic Beer, is it?”
“Yes, I’ll show you.” He takes a drink of the beer, jumps out the window, flies around the building 3 times and comes back in the window.
The lady can’t believe it: “I bet you can’t do that again.”
He takes another drink of beer, jumps out the window, flies around the building three times, and comes back in the window.
She is so amazed that she says she wants a Magic Beer, so the guy says to the bartender, “Give her one of what I’m having.”
She gets her drink, takes a gulp of the beer, jumps out the window, plummets 30 stories, breaks every bone in her body, and dies.
The bartender looks up at the guy and says, “You know, Superman, you’re a real jerk when you’re drunk!”

Cream Crackered

Posted by Stephen on February 27, 2007

Cream CrackeredWell that’s me just home from work.  I’m feeling quite a bit knackered if truth be told.  Still, I’m off now for a couple of days, so not to worry – chill out, fanny about on the XBox360, spend some time with the gf and generally do very little else.

Had a busy day today – running both to and fro (sometimes at the same time!)  Weather’s been crappy – teeming down all day long (apart from when it wasn’t, of course).

Happy Birthday Laura!

Posted by Stephen on February 26, 2007

chocolate loverMy good friend Laura turns 21 today.  Woop de doo etc… If I know her as I think I do (what with her sweet tooth n all), she’ll indulge in some manner of chocolate celebration.   Ooh I suppose I should’ve just bought her a box of celebrations, since they’re made out of chocolate…

And finally…a third sale for the week gives me a fabulous hat trick. A call

from the boss to say well done and the obligatory bottle of champers to celebrate. Usually this only happens in peak season – me so spawny!

Back of the net!

Posted by Stephen on February 24, 2007

As predicted, another sale! Get in there!  This boy was first on my books back in the summer last year.  Long time coming but all the sweeter to get it at this time of the year.

Apparently, I’m gonna live forever.

Posted by Stephen on February 19, 2007

No, not really.  But I just wanted to say that I’m taking the other half for a birthday treat night out to see FAME at the Edinburgh Playhouse in March.  It’s what she really wants and if I’m honest, I think it’ll be a right old laugh too.  Got good seats n all.  Well, I’ve no idea how good the seats are – all I do know is that they appear to be located in a desirable part of the theatre.  For all I know, they might be very grubby and uncomfy.

Sale number 5

Posted by Stephen on February 19, 2007

Wahey n that. Man came back and left cash.  Even though sale 4 cancelled (boo hiss) I’m content working with a full team again and things are back on track – so very happy that I didn’t leave the job.

Watch this space, I am certain sale 6 is likely by Friday.

Eagle Awards.

Posted by Stephen on February 7, 2007

Well today I got home at 4pm from Blackpool.  A four hour car journey up the M6, over to Hexham then up the A1 isn’t fun at the best of times, but when you’re nursing a stinkin hangover its doubly worse!

The reason I was in Blackpool was due to my work’s annual Eagle Awards held this year in the Blackpool Hilton hotel.  Nice enough hotel.  I was there in Sept 06 as well for a seminar so it was at least familiar.  Same faces by and large from last year – obviously, being sales, some were no longer there.  Here’s hoping I make the 2008 one!

Last year it was at Alton Towers and the day consisted of a lot of  team building tasks such as running around wooded areas looking for clues and all this stuff.  That was a good laugh.  And Bradley Walsh was the award ceremony compere!

This year was a bit different – there were no ‘activities’ as such – we just listened to various company directors and their focus for 2007 etc… Then in the evening, it was a better meal than last year, but the compere was just some old bloke who wouldn’t have looked out of place on Phoenix Nights!

Once we were on our own time in the evening, I proceeded to get pissed really quite quickly.  I have noticed that I can’t drink like I once could and I tend to get worse hangovers these days.  I can only assume that is because I’m out of practice.  Pity the same concept didn’t apply to orgasms :D Oh, speaking of sex, I had the unfortunate privelage of listening to some couple in a neighbouring hotel room feverishly attempting to make babies!  If you’ve ever seen the movie ‘The Secret Of My Success’ with Michael J Fox, then you’ll know what I mean.
